 | Pr' Tatko Hostel is Kranjska Gora's friendliest
hostel! It is a beautiful 100 year old building with a warm atmosphere and fun modern vibes. It is located in the picturesque Podkoren village on the border of Triglav national park. This heritage building has large rooms with high ceilings, filled with warmth and hospitality.
Located in the heart of a traditional Slovenian alpine village, the 19th century architecture, hand painted walls and classic furniture are perfect to come home to after a long day of tours and activities in the Julian Alps.
At this youth hostel you will make friends and experience things you will never forget. We personally organise tours and activities for our guests according to their interests. Back at the hostel you can share your adventures with our guests from around the world and get a feeling for the unique culture of Slovenia and the scenic adventure of the Alps!
The hostel is surrounded by the mountains and forests, so you can bike, trek or ski or you can enjoy the following recreational activities we offer in summer: rock climbing, paragliding, caving and rafting or kayaking in the amazingly beautiful river Soca in Bovec.
In winter the mountains offer a wide range of outdoor activities such as cross country or alpine skiing and snowboarding. We also organise dog sledding, snowshoeing and ski school for all those who have just started to enjoy winter sports.

| Directions | Although the Zgornjesavska valley with the village Podkoren is safely embraced by the peaks of the Karavanke Mountains and the Julian Alps, the valley is easily accessible. No more than half an hours drive will take you to the motorways in Italy (Tarvisio), Austria (Villach) or Slovenia (Karavanke tunnel). The nearest railway station is not far at all and there is less than an hours drive to the Ljubljana International Airport. | | Transportation | By road: if in Slovenia, the LjubljanaKranjJeseniceKranjska Gora-Podkoren road will lead you to your destination; from Austria, the road leads from Villach either over the Korensko sedlo border crossing or the Karavanke tunnel, whilst from Italy, the road will take you through the border crossing at Rateče.
By train/bus:the nearest train station is at Jesenice; there, you can board a bus for another 30-minute drive to Podkoren, which is only 25 km away.
